Customs officials discovered multiple gold bars hidden in a black sachet inside a passenger's suitcase at Ivato Airport during a routine inspection before departure. The gold bars, weighing approximately 6 kilograms, were intended for illegal export. Colonel Randrianirina Mickael, Head of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Office, arrived at the scene alongside government officials and ACM military leadership to investigate the matter personally. According to his statement, the gold originated from the Presidential Palace and was being smuggled out through the national airport. The Colonel emphasized that there remain individuals engaged in illegal activities and criminal networks attempting to defraud the nation through such smuggling operations at the international airport. He vowed not to tolerate such actions and pledged to pursue the case to its conclusion, warning that all individuals involved, regardless of their status, will face justice.
