The Rova of Manjakamiadana is now revealed under new permanent outdoor lighting powered by solar energy. Inaugurated on Friday, this system brings a new dimension to the historic site. Resulting from a partnership between the Filatex Group, the Ministry of Communication and Culture (MCC) and Ormada, the project is based on sixty solar units covering nearly 8,000 m², with an autonomy of up to twelve hours. Safety remains the primary objective. The lighting should facilitate surveillance of the Rova, deter intrusions and improve working conditions for guards, while ensuring the authenticity of the site's landscape is preserved. This installation also opens new possibilities for tourism. Night visits could be considered, provided an appropriate system is put in place: secure and marked routes, visitor supervision and defined hours. Access management and heritage protection must also be ensured to allow the public to discover the Rova at night without compromising its integrity. Cassie Ramaindrasoa
