Sand transportation has resumed following the reinstatement of permits for technically approved and viable locations. Restrictions remain on transporting gravel and land unsuitable for construction or infrastructure development. Many people believe they will see vehicles again, particularly trucks. Within a short time, sand transportation has already resumed in the capital and surrounding areas, such as Alasora and Ambohidratrimo. Authorities must provide better evidence that this reversal of the transportation ban serves the public interest rather than private gain, to restore public confidence.
