On Friday, September 11, another death was announced, bringing the total number of people who lost their lives as a result of this accident to five. This fifth victim is a woman in her thirties who was being treated in the intensive care unit of Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona University Hospital. The actual cause of this tragedy, which claimed five lives and left three others injured still under treatment, remains to be determined. For now, the investigation into this matter continues, following an initial assessment indicating no brake system failure or steering bar blockage in the vehicle. These findings remain to be confirmed as part of the investigation. The vehicle's driver, held in custody since the day of the accident, has had his detention extended for investigative purposes. For their part, the families bereaved following this tragic accident have chosen not to speak about the matter, at least for now.
