A serious traffic accident occurred on Saturday at 7:35 a.m. on National Route 7 (RN7), at kilometer marker 88+250, in the Andalamahitsy sector, fokontany of Ambohimandroso B, rural commune of Ambohimandroso, Antanifotsy district, Vakinankaratra region. The tragedy claimed the life of an eight-year-old child and left eight injured, three of them seriously. According to initial information gathered by the Road Safety Brigade (BSR) of Ambatolampy, a Hyundai Starex driven by a 43-year-old man was transporting a family from Antananarivo heading to Antsirabe. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle left the roadway on a straight section of RN7, outside a built-up area, before rolling several times and coming to rest on the left shoulder of the road. Alerted immediately after the incident, two gendarmes from the BSR of Ambatolampy went to the scene to assist victims, secure the area, and regulate traffic while conducting standard investigations. The toll is particularly heavy: an eight-year-old child died on impact. Eight other vehicle occupants were injured, three in serious condition. Victims were evacuated to the Level II Basic Health Center (CSB II) of Ambohimandroso for necessary treatment. Following medical-legal examinations, the body of the young victim was released to the family for funeral arrangements. The Hyundai Starex sustained significant material damage. An investigation was opened by the BSR of Ambatolampy to determine the exact circumstances of this fatal accident.
