Four young men, known as pickpockets, were arrested by the National Police on Thursday, September 10 around 3:30 p.m. at Tsararano market in Mahajanga. The swift intervention prevented a potential new theft operation. Alerted to the group's presence in the area, officers from Tsararano police station immediately responded. The four individuals were spotted in the sector and appeared to be about to strike. Upon seeing law enforcement, they immediately fled. Their attempt to escape was short-lived as they were quickly caught and arrested near the scene. Taken to Mahabibo police station, the four young men are under investigation to determine their possible involvement in pickpocketing incidents and establish the exact circumstances of their presence at Tsararano. They are expected to be presented to the prosecutor following the procedure. This intervention demonstrates the National Police's responsiveness to reports of insecurity.
