A meeting between the Ministry of National Education and private schools over the new curriculum ended in failure. The two parties failed to reach consensus. During the meeting held at the Ministry of National Education in Anosy yesterday, both sides maintained their positions. The ministry focused primarily on promoting the new school curriculum. For their part, private sector actors requested time for its implementation. "The curriculum requires thorough reflection before any implementation. Even public schools are facing difficulties. Teachers of history-geography are being asked to teach Economics and Social Sciences (SES), while this subject requires specific skills," said Isabelle Norohanta, school director and member of the national leadership of "Sekoly miahy tena," upon leaving the meeting room. Private schools wish to continue discussions. For them, implementation of this new curriculum is not yet possible.
