Theater is among the artistic disciplines covered by this call for applications. At the Alliance Française d'Antananarivo (AFT), art is about to meet childhood. With Les Fabriques de l'Imaginaire, an unprecedented artistic residency, the institution opens its doors to Malagasy creators eager to bring to life sensitive, poetic and enchanting worlds. From November 3 to December 4, 2026, selected artists will experience a month of total immersion, between research, rehearsals, workshops and exchanges. On December 5, their work will be unveiled to the public, as the culmination of a dialogue between imagination and youth. A grant of 8,000,000 ariary will be awarded for this purpose. This is not merely financial aid. Above all, this grant offers a framework where imagination becomes raw material, where revisited tales meet biodiversity and the great emotions of childhood. Each discipline, such as theater, puppetry, storytelling and the arts of speech, will be so many open doors to wonder and the affirmation of creators' talents. Furthermore, transmission workshops are also at the heart of the project, since the primary targets are children. They will be able to discover the pleasure of playing, creating, expressing their creativity. Thus, they will move from the status of mere spectators to traveling companions and true actors in this artistic adventure. With this edition, the Alliance Française confirms its ambition: to make art a bridge capable of connecting generations through poetry and dreams. Applications are still being accepted until September 30, 2026 at 5 p.m., a rare opportunity for Madagascar's artists to showcase their imagination, especially since no theme will be imposed.
