The Moramanga solar plant will add 5 MWc of additional electricity to the RIA, with the installation of a high-capacity transformer at Mandraka. New solar capacity will soon strengthen the power supply of the Antananarivo Interconnected Network (RIA). The first 5 MWc produced by the Moramanga solar plant should be injected into the grid in the coming days, according to information provided by Jirama. An important milestone has been reached with the arrival at Mandraka of a 25 MVA high-capacity transformer intended for this solar plant with a total capacity of 15 MWc. Jirama technicians must now proceed with its installation to enable the transmission of electricity produced in Moramanga to the network supplying the capital. The commissioning of this first 5 MWc phase represents additional support for the RIA, which has recently faced production pressures. It is part of ongoing efforts to progressively strengthen available capacity and reduce power cuts in Antananarivo.
