Valahara and Kintaniavo bring together rock and rap in the unreleased clip Nivarilavo. Malagasy rock and rap meet around a narrative that is both dark and hopeful. Valahara and Kintaniavo will soon unveil "Nivarilavo," a musical collaboration featuring an original music video set for official release on Friday, September 18. Through this featuring, the two artists explore the consequences of a romantic breakup and the different stages that can follow a period of great distress.

"Nivarilavo" traces the downward spiral of a person after a romantic breakup. Depression, loneliness, alcohol, and suicidal thoughts make up this particularly difficult period. However, the narrative evolves toward another perspective. After traversing this dark period, the person gradually regains hope, the will to live, and happiness. The track thus conveys a message of resilience: no matter how painful, suffering is not an end. It is always possible to rise again, rediscover the joy of living, and envision better days ahead.

Valahara's Rock

For Valahara, this new project marks a new milestone in the journey of a group considered promising within the new generation of Malagasy rock. After presenting their debut album live during a promotional concert at Ivokolo Analakely on August 1, 2026, the band continues its adventure with ambition and seeks to share its music with new audiences.

The group comprises Garry on drums and backing vocals, Ranja on keyboards and backing vocals, Sitraka on lead vocals and flute, Yrah on bass and backing vocals, and Jaykee on guttural guitar. This lineup gives Valahara a collective identity built around multiple instruments and voices, finding new expression here through the meeting with rap.

Meanwhile, Kintaniavo establishes herself as a leading figure in female hip-hop in Madagascar. Originally from Antananarivo, she uses rap as a means of expression and a vector for social change. Her writing, direct and conscious, addresses notably the condition of women and social injustices, with the intention of delivering texts that provoke reflection.

At 23 years old, Kintaniavo is making her mark on the rap scene. A finalist in a television competition and member of the Indepen'zah collective, she is gradually building her career in a fast-moving environment, relying above all on hard work and impactful lyrics. Her musical identity stands out notably for sincere rap that blends Malagasy and French, accompanied by charismatic stage presence.

With "Nivarilavo," the two worlds complement each other. Valahara's rock meets Kintaniavo's rap writing to tell a painful experience, without confining the narrative to suffering. The collaboration instead follows a path toward reconstruction and reminds us that after a period of distress, hope and the desire to live can gradually be reborn.
