At a press conference on Thursday, Transport and Meteorology Minister Herizo Ramanambola Andrianavalona reaffirmed the transfer to Amoronakona. Operators currently departing from Fasan'ny Karana must relocate their services to Amoronakona. After transporters believed Wednesday they could continue operating from Fasan'ny Karana, the situation was clarified Thursday. The transfer to the new bus station remains mandatory. "The government's position fully authorizes the continuation of the cleanup and transfer to Amoronakona," the minister stated.
Amoronakona's capacity is a key argument for this transfer. The station has 110 bays, while cooperatives currently linked to Fasan'ny Karana represent approximately 73 operators, plus those serving RN2. The minister also recalled planned solutions to facilitate passenger movement from the new station, including shuttle services and urban rail.
Starting September 16, operators serving notably RN7 must obtain clearance from Amoronakona bus station. Any vehicle continuing to depart from Fasan'ny Karana without this document may be impounded. The ministry also mentions potential cooperative license revocation for non-compliant departures. After recent uncertainties, the message is now clear: affected departures must transfer to Amoronakona.
