A Global Fund delegation is currently on a mission to Madagascar. It met with teams from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), notably represented by the director of BACE (External Cooperation Support Office), alongside officials from the General Directorate of Budget and Finance. Discussions focused primarily on financing of $116.1 million planned for the 2027-2029 period. This envelope will be dedicated to the health sector, with particular attention to combating malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS. The meeting also addressed mechanisms for monitoring the use of funds. Emphasis was placed on strengthening transparency, accountability, and control systems. Both parties also discussed the need to resolve previous difficulties in order to improve financing effectiveness and achieve sustainable and measurable results on the ground.
