The founder of the Sobahya festival has been recognized. The Ministry of Communication and Culture has decided to reward the founder of the Sobahya festival, Bachir Soujay Adehame. The former senator and chancellor has been elevated to the rank of Commander of Arts, Letters and Culture. Boeny regional chief Adakalo Nasolo presented the decoration at the recipient's home with the organizing committee of the 20th edition of the Sobahya festival. The recipient was absent from this latest cultural event in Katsepy due to health reasons.
"This title was awarded to him by the Ministry of Communication and Culture, headed by O'Gascar Fenosoa, in recognition of his commitment and significant contribution to the promotion of arts and culture," declared the regional chief.
On this occasion, Bachir Soujay also addressed the organizers and shared advice and experience accumulated over these 20 years. Lessons he considers essential for the sustainability and development of the Sobahya festival.
The ceremony also allowed for a review of the 20th edition, in the presence of this year's organizing committee president, Saïd Jaffar. The improvement of the Antalaotse museum, or tranombakoka, located in the rural municipality of Katsepy, was notably among the subjects discussed.
The importance of protecting, preserving and promoting this heritage was emphasized, so that it becomes a precious legacy to pass on to current and future generations. The objective of this meeting demonstrates everyone's willingness to work for the protection and promotion of culture, arts and heritage.
