A total of 970 producers from six fokontany in the rural commune of Ampangabe, Ambohidratrimo district, in the Analamanga region, have received state support through the FSRP project, financed by the World Bank. The Food Systems Resilience Project, under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, aims to strengthen food security while helping producers become more resilient to climate and economic shocks. Rice packs have been distributed to 970 farmers in Ambohidratrimo district to better prepare for the 2026-2027 season. This represents a total allocation of 3 tonnes of certified irrigated rice seeds and 19 tonnes of NPK fertilizer, intended to improve agricultural yields and support family farms. Each beneficiary received a kit comprising 3 kg of certified seeds and 18 kg of NPK fertilizer.

Prior to this distribution, training on improved farming techniques was provided to producers. The adoption of these modern and efficient practices will not only increase productivity but also expand and enhance the value of cultivated areas. During the handover ceremony, Madagascar's High Advisor for Refoundation, Colonel Andriamiarisoa Gervais, reiterated the importance of synergy between the state and producers to achieve food sovereignty objectives. "Agricultural development relies on close partnership between public authorities and farmers, comparable to two hands of the same body working together for the country's progress," he emphasized.

The occasion also highlighted other FSRP project achievements in the area, particularly the rehabilitation work on the Andromba dam. This strategic hydro-agricultural infrastructure will eventually irrigate up to 980 hectares of rice paddies, contributing to the security and intensification of local rice production. Demonstrations of agricultural equipment dedicated to rice threshing and winnowing were also organized to promote mechanization and reduce post-harvest losses. Through this initiative, the government reaffirms its commitment to supporting rural communities, raising national productivity, and making agriculture a major lever for Madagascar's economic and social development.
