The artistic event Malagasy Design Gaze returns for a third edition titled 'Re dessin, re dessein'. For this new chapter, the event questions what can be transformed, connected and reinvented. The journey unfolds through several cultural stages across the city. From September 19 to October 2, a selection of works by artist, graphic designer and muralist Iandry Randriamandroso, as well as ceramicist and painter Vero Rasendratsirofo will be presented at the bookstore Il était une fois, located in Ankorondrano. Next, from September 26 to October 24, FLOW Gallery will host the first monographic exhibition of plastic artist Miangaly Elia. Finally, BRED in Antaninarenina will host the closing stage of this artistic journey on October 7 and 8.
For this year, eleven multidisciplinary artists bring together their universes and expertise. The public will discover textile design creations by Andrée Mathilde Ethève, works by multidisciplinary creator Emma GL, designs by artist FANJAR, and plastic research by Miangaly Elia. Creator Stéphanie will represent the Granit'Ix brand as designer and founder, alongside Prisca Razafindrakoto, designer and metal artist, and Vero Rasendratsirofo, ceramicist and painter. The journey also honors Georges Floret and the Ateliers d'Analakely, which combine the skills of architect, material designer and lapidary. The program also features Iandry Randriamandroso, artist, graphic designer and muralist, Yassine Ben Abdallah, artist-designer, and Philippe Manet, stone carver and founder of Madastone.
According to curator Ihoby Rabarijohn, 'encounter is at the heart of the approach to create unique correspondences between works, materials, creators, expertise and the public.' Through this project, designers consider the object as an interpretation of their environment, offering free and playful function. These creations breathe and borrow from nature an organic language, where each curve and color are explored to communicate intimately with the public.
