More than forty-three lots of merchandise held under deposit regime will be auctioned publicly from September 21 to 25 at the Mahajanga Customs office. The merchandise is stored in deposit warehouses under the Mahajanga Customs bureau, specifically at Comama, DCC, and SEMS. A detailed list of lots, their reserve prices, and participation conditions are available on the Customs administration website.
Transparency
Mahajanga Customs Receiver Russel Gérald Biankinana assures that transparency will be guaranteed throughout the operation. "Transparency will be maintained during this operation. The Bianco of Mahajanga will accompany us in this public auction. This sale will be exceptional as it will be conducted through sealed bids. The list of lots and their reserve prices is available on the Customs administration website and posted in all Customs offices," the receiver stated.
Bidders must deposit a down payment equal to 10% of the reserve price via a bank check made out to the Customs Receiver. They must also obtain and complete a bid form from the auctioneer. The submission must then be filed with the auctioneer, accompanied by the bid form, a copy of the receipt confirming down payment, and a copy of the national identity card.
The sale will run for five days starting September 21. The first days will be devoted to viewing lots and submitting bids with down payment. Bid submission closes on the third day. The sealed bids will be opened by the ad hoc commission on the fourth day starting at 8:30 a.m., followed by publication of the winners list and completion of other formalities.
Lots being auctioned include vehicles such as BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes, Opel Frontera, and Range Rover models, as well as various merchandise including baby clothing, donated medical equipment, milk, and vehicle spare parts.
