An 18-year-old young man died inside a minibus traveling from Fianarantsoa to Antananarivo. The incident was reported on the evening of September 5, 2026, around 21:41, when the vehicle's driver informed the gendarmerie outpost at Ambohimandroso. The young man had boarded a Sprinter operated by the Sonatra cooperative on the Fianarantsoa-Antananarivo route. When the vehicle arrived at Ambohimandroso, passengers and the driver stopped at a hotel to eat. During this stop, they discovered that the young passenger showed no signs of life. Two gendarmes were immediately dispatched to the scene, accompanied by health personnel, to conduct initial investigations. The victim was from the fokontany of Iharanatany, in the commune of Alakamisinambohimaha, Fianarantsoa II district. After examination by health officials, the body was transferred to the Ambohimandroso morgue. The deceased's family was notified and was to collect the remains. The minibus was authorized to continue its journey to Antananarivo. The Ambohimandroso outpost is investigating to determine the exact circumstances of this death that occurred during the journey.
