A violent accident occurred on Sunday, September 6 around 2:15 PM on the Ankerana ring road, near the Shell Ankadindramamy station. A black Kymco GP motorcycle taxi, carrying one passenger, rear-ended a garbage truck belonging to the Municipal Sanitation Company (SMA) parked on the roadside. The 33-year-old motorcycle driver suffered serious head injuries and was transported unconscious to Soavinandriana Hospital (CENHSOA), while his passenger, who was heading to Andohatapenaka, sustained minor injuries, according to police. The 26-year-old truck driver was unharmed. The Accident Investigation Brigade has been assigned to investigate the case.
"I heard a loud noise and saw the motorcycle crash into the back of the truck. Everything happened very quickly. People present were in shock," recounts a resident at the scene.
"The taxi-moto driver appeared unconscious. Bystanders rushed to help him before police arrived. It was both impressive and worrying," testifies a shopkeeper located near the ring road.
