The Department of Tourism and Crafts dressed in white with green flowers. The traditional June 26 parade took place along the Toliara seafront, where around sixty entities presented themselves to the public. Representatives from the public sector, led by the Armed Forces, security forces and naval forces, paraded first, followed by decentralized technical services, NGOs and private sector representatives. Students from middle schools, high schools, universities and athletes also participated. The Fokontany of Mahavatsy 1st stood out with its chief sounding a siren as he passed before the public and authorities. Representatives from other fokontany drew attention with traditional dances accompanied by southern music. The directive to wear traditional Malagasy clothing was followed, starting with the chief of the Atsimo Andrefana region, General Olivier Miandrisoa, who dressed as a "Masikoro" with shorts, black jacket, felt hat and traditional walking stick. Almost all service heads wore "Malagasy style" and "traditional" clothing typical of the ethnic groups in the Atsimo Andrefana region. The private sector, including the company "Vara Mada", was present but in smaller numbers than in the previous four years. About thirty individuals wore white and traditional Malagasy craft hats.
