The Public Security Minister visited the wounded officer. A police intervention went wrong Saturday evening in Trano Dimy, in the fokontany of Ampangabe. A police officer from the Ilanivato precinct was shot while responding to a report of two armed individuals. The incident occurred on Saturday, September 5, around 7:15 p.m., on the road leading to Volahanta pharmacy, near a private gate. The Ilanivato police precinct had been alerted to the presence of two individuals armed with knives in the area. Two officers were immediately dispatched to verify the report and conduct a possible intervention. But upon arrival, as they prepared to dismount their motorcycle, the two suspects allegedly opened fire before fleeing. One of the officers was hit by gunfire in the abdomen during the intervention. Faced with the situation, significant police resources were quickly mobilized. Officials from the central precinct went to the scene, accompanied by elements from the intervention units of the UIR, SAG, and CUI. The chiefs of the Mahamasina and Isotry precincts, as well as the chief of the Ilanivato precinct, also participated in operations. The wounded officer was immediately evacuated to HJRA hospital, where he received necessary care. An investigation was opened to identify and locate the two individuals involved in this attack.
