The Avana teaching team. A historic milestone for the Avana Educational and School Center. Unique in Madagascar, this institution is recording significant growth in enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year. From just ten students at its opening in 2021, it now welcomes around fifty.

Noble Mission
This achievement reflects the pride of the Avana team, more determined than ever to support its students as effectively as possible. The mission is far from easy: it involves caring for adolescents with learning disorders—ADD, ADHD (attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity), autism—or psychological difficulties. "Aware of the scope of this mission and committed to improving the quality of our teaching, we have implemented a number of innovations, both in administration and in the center's logistics," explained Raphaël Jakoba during a parent meeting held last Friday at the center's headquarters in Amboditsiry. "We will strengthen vocational guidance, such as manual work and computer skills, to increase partnerships with businesses and focus our efforts on student autonomy," he added.

Comprehensive Education
Now equipped with a new office, Avana Center provides its students with comprehensive education. Beyond purely academic activities, students benefit from practical sessions in sewing and makeup, led by professionals in these fields. The center also teaches them to better integrate into social life, introducing them to activities like shopping. Furthermore, a vocational guidance system has been established to help them become fully active members of society tomorrow. Alongside the management team and a dozen specialized teachers, a clinical psychologist and a consulting psychiatrist provide support. A school bus service and cafeteria complete the program. Despite the scope of its mission, Avana Center has chosen tuition fees adapted to the purchasing power of Malagasy families. As a purely Malagasy initiative, Avana deserves support not only from public authorities but also from willing private partners.
