Communities are increasingly involved in forest protection and management. Tany Meva Foundation's community projects have enabled sustainable management of 20,000 hectares of forests through natural resource management transfers (TGRN), as well as management or conservation of 1,000,000 hectares of terrestrial zones and over 200,000 hectares of marine zones. These results are complemented by reforestation or restoration of over 10,000 hectares of forest areas. This is the balance sheet of 30 years of commitment by Tany Meva Foundation, presented at the official launch of its 30th anniversary celebration, themed "30 years serving biodiversity through communities," at Novotel Alarobia on June 17.

Tany Meva has overcome challenges to transform visions into measurable impacts on the ground," announced Hariliva Rasoanarivo, Executive Director of Tany Meva Foundation.
Concrete Solutions
Tany Meva Foundation's mission is to mobilize and manage financial resources for funding local initiatives to protect and sustainably manage natural resources. It consistently places communities at the center of its funding activities. By financing and supporting projects led by local communities, it has proven that protecting Madagascar's unique biodiversity is inseparable from the economic and social well-being of local populations. It has invested over 20 million USD in grants for community-led environmental projects. Nearly 1,850 local projects have been supported across Madagascar, directly benefiting over 415,000 households. "In a global context marked by climate challenges, biodiversity loss and growing pressures on natural resources, Tany Meva Foundation intends to continue its commitment alongside public actors, technical and financial partners, civil society and local communities to build concrete and sustainable solutions," according to its executive director.
