BISHKEK, September 1 (Xinhua) — Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, attended a Tuesday morning event organized by Aigul Japarova, wife of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, for the spouses of leaders at the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Upon arrival at the Ala-Archa State Residence, Ms. Peng was warmly welcomed by Ms. Japarova. Ms. Peng and other leaders' spouses visited an exhibition dedicated to Kyrgyzstan's ethnic culture, posed for group photos, and attended a stage performance at the Enesay reception house. Ms. Peng praised the performance as magnificent and congratulated the artists on their exceptional talent. She invited Kyrgyz artists to visit China for more performances and cultural exchanges, allowing Chinese audiences to better discover the country's rich ethnic culture.
