He made these remarks in a written address released upon his arrival in Cairo for a state visit to Egypt, at the invitation of his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sissi. In his written statement, Xi extended sincere greetings and best wishes from the Chinese government and people to the Egyptian government and people. China and Egypt, he emphasized, are two ancient civilizations united by traditional friendship enduring for millennia and tested by time.
