Madagascar's Education Minister, Sendra Nirina Rajaonarison, made firm statements yesterday about the situation within her department during the third meeting with unions and associations of the ministry. She notably denounced the intention to reinstate systems that, according to her, have already failed. "What affects this ministry is the desire to reinstate systems that have already failed. There is even a mafia network. Is there really commitment to the ministry or is it about doing politics to obtain positions?" she declared. She emphasized that the ministry must be protected from practices that could harm its functioning.
Technical Advisers
Regarding technical advisers (CT), 16 currently work with the minister, some from Gen Z. She specifies that they work voluntarily at her side. She warned against the use of her name by CTs or any other person for corruption purposes. Sendra Nirina Rajaonarison affirms that she does not mandate anyone to act in her name. When a procedure requires the intervention of a Dircab, a CT or any other person, she calls the person directly herself. She thus insists that no one should use her name to ask for money or intervene in a matter.
Grievances
This third meeting follows two previous meetings. The first was devoted to identified problems and proposals from each party, while the second focused on the situation within the ministry. Yesterday's discussions allowed for continued dialogue on difficulties encountered and improvements to be made. The minister assured that the MEN remains open to grievances and proposals. Assizes are also being considered soon. She also called on participants to avoid provocations and personal attacks, while recalling that problems related to management can be raised.
