A new initiative against corruption is underway in Mahajanga. The University of Mahajanga and the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (Bianco) have decided to strengthen their commitment to promoting integrity and combating corruption in the academic environment.

With this in mind, a two-day workshop to design a new anti-corruption training module for Master's 2 students at the University of Mahajanga was organized on September 1st and 2nd at Bianco headquarters in Mahajanga Be. The objective is to instill in students the fundamental values of responsibility, transparency and accountability, to foster the emergence of a new generation of leaders committed to fighting corruption.

This initiative stems from collaboration between the Swiss Confederation, the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) and Bianco. It is part of an approach aimed at sustainably integrating corruption prevention and integrity promotion into the university curriculum.

"This approach contributes to implementing the guidelines of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (SNLCC) and the General Policy of the State (PGE-R), by investing in training a new generation of professionals committed to more integrity-based and responsible governance," declared Sitraka Harivony Maria Patrick Razanabahoaka, territorial director of Bianco in Mahajanga.

Starting with the next academic year at participating institutions, the module will be piloted. The project will initially be implemented at three pilot higher education institutions: the Institute of Letters, Civilizations and Social Sciences (ILC-SS), the School of Law and Political Sciences (EDSP) and the University Institute of Management and Administration (IUGM).
