GAMING - Kalanoro Set to Conquer Japan
From development in Madagascar to a presentation in Japan, Kalanoro is taking a new step on the international video game scene. The game from Malagasy studio Red Raketa will be presented at Tokyo Game Show 2026, taking place from September 17-21 at Makuhari Messe, near Tokyo. Incubated by Booster Ony, Red Raketa has also announced a partnership with Sega for the publishing and launch of Kalanoro in Japan and several Asian markets. The official release of the game in these markets is set for September 24, 2026. Developed in Madagascar, Kalanoro draws inspiration from Malagasy imagination, folklore, and cultural heritage. The game combines exploration, action, platforming, and combat in a fantastical universe inspired by the Great Island. This participation in Tokyo Game Show represents another opportunity for Red Raketa to introduce Malagasy video game creation to an international audience. With its partnership with Sega and upcoming release across several Asian markets, Kalanoro is reaching new heights in its development and international reach.
