The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on RN4. According to initial information gathered by gendarmes, the pedestrian allegedly crossed the road abruptly. He reportedly stumbled just as a vehicle heading toward Mahajanga arrived. Despite apparently moderate speed, the victim was struck on the head by the left side of the car before falling heavily.
