Firaisankina: Tensions Between TIM and HVM
As electoral deadlines approach, this rivalry risks intensifying. Reconciliation is needed between two major pro-Refondation parties. Indeed, the political dialogue currently initiated by the Presidency of the Refondation of the Republic of Madagascar is resurfacing latent tensions between Tiako i Madagasikara and Hery Vaovao hoan'i Madagasikara. A disagreement is being exposed publicly between two parties within the Firaisankina political platform. It should be noted that TIM and HVM are represented within the Mamitiana Rajaonarison government. Rivo Rakotovao, national president of HVM, says he is surprised to see TIM representing Firaisankina at this political dialogue when this party, through an official letter dated October 30, 2025, had formalized its decision to withdraw from this grouping of political parties. "When do they speak on behalf of this entity and when do they reject it?" he wonders. Known as an adherent of diplomatic language, the former Senate president nevertheless did not mince words in denouncing behavior that tarnishes the image of politicians in the eyes of citizens. Following their meeting with PRRM, colonel Michaël Randrianirina, TIM deputy Mamy Rabenirina also raised his voice to denounce the existence of intrusion among Firaisankina representatives who participated in this political dialogue at Iavoloha. People who, according to him, did not participate in the preparatory meeting for the encounter. This would be why there were disagreements concerning the proposals submitted to PRRM. Above the fray. In any case, these two versions demonstrate the existence of a disagreement within Firaisankina, particularly between these two major parties, namely TIM and HVM. Also noteworthy is the absence of Antoko Politika Madio and the Tsara Tahafina party at this meeting with president Michaël Randrianirina. For their part, Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko and his Pro-Siteny party prefer, for now, to stay above the fray by leaving the squabbles to TIM and HVM. As a reminder, during the Hetsika Fotsy, it was the current president of the National Assembly who was at the origin of the dissociation of the Collective of candidates, as he had chosen to participate in the electoral campaign. It is clear that Firaisankina has always been exposed to internal feuds. Moreover, as electoral deadlines approach, this rivalry between Tiako i Madagasikara and Hery Vaovao hoan'i Madagasikara risks intensifying, given that the two parties have never hidden their ambition to seek a new presidential term. This is indeed the raison d'être of any political party. It is well known that for TIM, the next presidential election constitutes the last chance for former president Marc Ravalomanana to return to power. But it is well known that in politics, nothing is set in stone. With the evolution of the current situation, the creation of a large political alliance supporting a possible candidacy of colonel Michaël Randrianirina cannot be ruled out.
