Held at the Finance Hotel in Mahajanga Be, the meeting brought together regional authorities, decentralized technical services, local government bodies, and representatives from civil society and the private sector. Bototsara Mbolatiana James, director general of Economy and Finance, emphasized the importance of these regional consultations in defining budget priorities. For his part, Boeny region chief Nasolo Adakalo indicated that efforts had been made to involve the private sector more in discussions. "Meeting the fundamental needs of each citizen is reflected in this project. The Boeny region, in particular, has a roadmap aligned with the government's reform policy. Priorities focus on access to clean water and electricity, as well as agricultural development and infrastructure. The region also has a Regional Development Plan (PRD), aimed at promoting its development," Nasolo Adakalo stated. The meeting should allow various stakeholders to report the region's needs and prioritize spending for the next state budget. "This is an opportunity to assess the situation and evaluate needs in the regions. Budget transparency is essential. Priority must be given to spending that creates value in terms of return on investment, to directly support local development and improve living conditions for the population," the director general explained.
