Road infrastructure development could benefit from new international support. On September 2, in Anosy, the Minister of Public Works, Dr Sambilason Richard Rafefimanana, received a delegation from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), an Indian company specializing in major infrastructure projects. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Madagascar and India in this strategic sector.

This meeting comes at a time when improving the road network remains essential for facilitating travel and supporting economic activities. Roads play an important role in transporting goods, providing access to services, and connecting different regions.

With this in mind, the MEIL delegation has already conducted field visits to assess realities and needs. RN1 Bis, the Bemolanga axis, and the entire RN13 were among the infrastructure visited. These observations allowed the company to better understand the technical constraints related to these strategic routes.

Following these visits, MEIL expressed its interest in increased participation in road infrastructure development. Such involvement could facilitate large-scale projects and help improve mobility for the population.

For his part, the minister welcomed this approach and reaffirmed the government's commitment to facilitating the arrival of investors capable of concretely contributing to priority projects.
