Madagascar's diplomacy is stepping up its game. Foreign Affairs Minister Alice N'DIAYE recently convened a strategic briefing meeting with newly appointed diplomatic and consular representatives stationed abroad. The focus of these discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations, steadfastly defending Madagascar's interests, and actively promoting the country's image on the international stage. This high-level meeting brought together key figures in diplomacy, including Olga Ramiarinjanahary, ambassador to Mauritius, Mamy Ratovomalala, who takes the helm of the embassy in the United Kingdom, and Rosette Hery, appointed consul general in Réunion. These appointments reflect a clear determination to strengthen Madagascar's presence in economically and geopolitically strategic zones for the country. During this consultation, the head of diplomacy firmly reiterated the priorities assigned to these new state officials. Among the crucial missions are enhanced protection and active mobilization of the Malagasy diaspora, a key player in national development. "Contributing to the implementation of Refoundation priorities and carrying high the colors of Madagascar": this was the refrain emphasized by the minister to her diplomats. As the Great Island seeks to consolidate its external partnerships, these new representatives will have the challenging task of translating this ambition for renewal and attractiveness into concrete action.
