Road rehabilitation work began yesterday in Tanambao V, between BRED Bank and Jesosy Mamonjy Church in Toamasina, following the completion of repairs on Boulevard Joffre. This road has long been a concern for residents of Toamasina, with multiple previous repair attempts that deteriorated quickly. This time, authorities are implementing more durable solutions. The launch was attended by Toamasina city officials, the Toamasina Water Authority, the road rehabilitation committee, and local representatives. City officials stated that repairs were necessary due to the road's severe deterioration, which poses risks to pedestrians and the many travelers in Toamasina. Other damaged roads will also be repaired, including those in Ampanalana, Ambohijafy, Ankirihiry, and Bazary kely, as well as the route from gare routière to Tanamakoa via Magro and Ceg Radama Tanamakoa. The rehabilitation work may take time, requiring residents to exercise patience for long-term benefits. Local authorities also emphasized the need to monitor adjacent roads, as many building constructions fail to respect road boundaries, with owners building without proper permits, according to local representatives.
