Rural Development: 20,000 Families Supported by MALTO Over 50 Years
School kits distributed as part of celebration. MALTO, a subsidiary of STAR Madagascar, celebrated its fifty years of existence. This milestone marks half a century of commitment to Malagasy agriculture and the barley sector. Created to supply STAR breweries with malt, MALTO has established itself as a key player in agricultural development. Its activities now cover the regions of Vakinankaratra, Haute Matsiatra, and Amoron'i Mania. With more than 20,000 partner farmers, the company contributes to sustainable sector structuring and improved rural household incomes. The ceremony was marked by the inauguration of four new silos, increasing storage capacity from 6,000 to 14,000 tonnes. This strategic investment demonstrates the group's growth ambitions and commitment to strengthening local value. True to its corporate social responsibility, MALTO distributed sprayers to farmers, as well as school kits and metal sheets to public primary schools in its intervention zones. Narindra Rakotobe
