The curtain fell on the 13th edition of Fihaonambe (congress), the major national gathering of young STK members of the FJKM, held in Nosy Be from August 26-30. The 2026 edition particularly emphasized young people's commitment to producing concrete and sustainable results through their work, in order to contribute to the transformation of society.
This message was the guiding thread throughout the various teachings delivered to thousands of participants over five days. The president of the FJKM, Reverend Zaka Harimasy Andriamampianina, also stressed this direction during his address.
His homily drew inspiration from the Gospel according to Saint Luke, chapter 17, verse 10: "We are merely servants without particular merit; we have only done our duty."
"The four products, MATOA, expected of you are sustainable results, MAharitra, which manifest themselves in character, Toetra, in relationships with others, Olona, and through concrete results in work, Asa. This is the legacy we will leave after this STK 2026 summit: sustainable results, visible in character, in human relations and in work," the president stated during the closing mass on Sunday at Dar-es-Salam stadium in Nosy Be.
The message to young people invites them to cultivate endurance, develop their character, build good relationships with others, and produce concrete work to contribute to society's transformation. The national gathering also aims to strengthen faith in Jesus Christ through various biblical teachings and promote young people's spiritual growth.
Various sports and cultural events allowed participants to develop individual and collective capacities, enrich knowledge, strengthen fraternal bonds, and showcase the gifts and talents of STK members from the 38 provincial synods.
"The STK from the 38 provincial synods were able to meet and build bonds of fraternity, love and unity. They were also able to showcase their talents through Malagasy rhythm, particularly during singing, classical music and cultural dance competitions," explained a leader of an evangelical group participating in the gathering.
Reverend Jean-Charles Rafanomezantsoa, member of the MF (Mpiandraikitra Foibe FJKM), emphasized the responsibilities of youth. "What is especially expected of today's young people is that they place importance on their bodies, their spiritual growth, the valorization of their gifts and holiness. They must also show discernment through faith and conscience. Youth is not inherently bad, but it is exposed to many temptations."
