New hygiene regulations are gradually taking hold, but certain habits remain difficult to change. In several neighborhoods, waste continues to be dumped in inappropriate places, particularly in gutters. "Throwing trash anywhere remains a deeply ingrained habit for some people," observed a resident interviewed on the ground. These practices highlight the difficulty of changing certain daily behaviors. For many residents, change takes time and adaptation of usual practices. "For us, it's become a habit: morning and evening, some people continue to throw their waste in the gutters," she testified. The success of this initiative also depends on everyone's participation. Respecting designated waste areas and abandoning gutter dumping require daily involvement from the population. Changing behaviors therefore appears to be a gradual process. In the streets, new habits are beginning to emerge, but old practices remain visible. Fanilo Mampianintsoa
