The Regional Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair closed its doors on Friday, August 29th. For six days, the city of Varatraza buzzed with testimonies, conferences, training sessions, experience exchanges, and exhibitions. Representatives from several companies operating in the DIANA region met with young people, sharing their career paths, advice, and the realities of the professional world. Organized by the Tamana association, this fifth edition was warmly welcomed by aspiring entrepreneurs. Through stands and presentations, the fair opened windows onto often-overlooked possibilities: starting a business, developing skills, joining a company, and transforming an idea into a revenue-generating activity. From another perspective, SREE's vision aims to connect young people from Antsiranana with the professional world by showing them different paths toward financial independence. It's no longer about waiting for an available position, but understanding market mechanisms, identifying opportunities, and why not, creating your own place. The testimonies heard over these six days also challenged a claim that has become almost a refrain: "Young people from Diego are lazy, spoiled, dependent on money from their families abroad"—an easy label to apply, but difficult to defend against the initiatives and career paths presented at the fair. These young people taking risks tell a different story about Antsiranana's youth. This is the fatalistic perception that Berthela Fety-Anandra and her team want to overcome. Of course, there isn't just a hand waiting to receive: there can also be a mind thinking of an idea to develop. Digitalization also found its place in the discussions. Its use in the professional sphere was widely discussed through experience-sharing by various speakers. Today, technology and digital tools are no longer a supplement to a career path. They have become instruments of work, communication, visibility, and the starting point of an activity. For young entrepreneurs, knowing how to use them means possessing a new key to open market doors. The fair ended with awards presented to the best stands. A way to close six days of activities where employment and youth met around the same realization: opportunities don't always knock on your door—you must create your own luck to forge your path to success.
