Various themes and shared concerns marked the celebration of International Youth Day in 2026. The event took place on Friday and Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the Antanimbary commune headquarters, within the Maevatanàna district, as part of the Betsiboka region's celebrations, noted by the team working under the Youth and Entertainment department. The Maevatanàna prefect officially opened the event, attended by numerous government officials, including the Betsiboka region head and local town authorities, as well as district representatives. Following the opening ceremony, visits were made to exhibition spaces by the aforementioned officials. The celebration continued with discussions on potential gender-based violence issues affecting youth, held on Friday at EPP Antanimbary school with young people, led by judges from the first-level court in Maevatanàna. The event concluded with free entertainment and sweet pastry distribution, organized by the Technical Education and Vocational Training department of Betsiboka.
