Ambohimanambola: Woman Arrested for Husband's Murder
A 56-year-old woman was arrested Friday morning by gendarmes from the Ambohimanambola Advanced Post, under the Tanà Ville Company. She is suspected of killing her 51-year-old husband at their home in Ambohimahatsinjo, in the commune of Ambohimanambola. According to initial investigation findings, the couple had a violent argument during the night preceding the tragedy. Investigators believe the victim's death occurred that same night. Upon examination, the man's body showed multiple injuries, particularly on the forehead and both knees, as well as lesions extending to the feet. Gendarmes also discovered significant blood traces inside the dwelling. Although an apparent cleanup attempt was made, several clues remained visible. Law enforcement seized multiple items suspected of being used during the incident or constituting evidence, including bloodstained clothing, a pestle, and a piece of wood with nails. When officers arrived, the main suspect was still present. As gendarmes, assisted by a doctor, conducted standard procedures, she allegedly attempted to dispose of a blood-stained pair of pants by throwing it in the toilet. Her action was noticed, however, and she was immediately intercepted and placed under arrest. The suspect is currently in custody at the Ambohimanambola Advanced Post, where investigations continue to determine the precise circumstances of this tragedy.
