An isolated tomb located at Ampananina, in the fokontany of Soamonina, a rural commune in Ankadinandriana district, was discovered open on Saturday, August 29. Seven remains are reported missing, while other mortal remains were found scattered. The alert was raised around noon by the chief of Soamonina fokontany to the commander of Ankadinandriana's territorial brigade. Two gendarmes immediately went to the scene to conduct initial investigations. According to evidence gathered at the site, the perpetrators forced open the tomb door, which is relatively isolated from residential areas, before entering. Investigations conducted in the presence of the tomb's family owners, the fokontany chief, and community members confirmed the disappearance of seven remains. Other mortal remains appear to have been displaced and found in disarray, while certain burials inside the tomb were untouched. According to initial findings, the violation may date back several days. The isolation and tranquility of the location delayed its discovery. It was ultimately a person herding cattle in the area who noticed the tomb had been forced open and raised the alarm. After investigations, the tomb was closed and secured. Residents were also made aware of the need to better monitor family tombs and remain vigilant against such acts. The population was invited to collaborate with law enforcement, particularly by reporting any suspicious movement or behavior and facilitating patrol operations in the sector. Located approximately 13 km from the brigade, the area falls under the jurisdiction of Ankadinandriana's territorial brigade, which continues investigations to determine the exact circumstances of this tomb violation and identify those potentially involved.
