A new drinking water production unit has been deployed to boost water supply in Mandroseza. The UTC 1,000 drinking water production unit in Mandroseza has been operational since last Saturday. Technical tests conducted on the two new pumps installed at the site proved successful, enabling effective production startup. Since its commissioning, this new infrastructure produces 24,000 m³ of water daily, according to Jirama. This additional capacity is intended to strengthen drinking water supply to Antananarivo's population. According to reports, the UTC 1,000 in Mandroseza is part of the Drinking Water Access Improvement Project (PAAEP). The project benefits from World Bank financing and is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (MEAH). The successful technical tests of the two new pumps mark the transition to the effective production phase of this new unit. With its 24,000 m³ produced daily, UTC 1,000 now directly contributes to drinking water supply in Antananarivo.
