Mining activities of QIT Madagascar Minerals (QMM) have been suspended at Mandena, Fort-Dauphin, due to multiple blockades of the site access road. "These repeated blockades over the past three weeks no longer allow us to guarantee safe access to the site for employees, partners and service providers," QMM stated. This situation has forced the mining company to halt its operations until further notice. The resumption of mining operations remains conditional on two requirements, according to the statement: guaranteed sustainable safety for personnel and restoration of free circulation to and from the site.
