Feo Gasy opens its 30-year celebration with a concert at CCI Ivato, ahead of a European tour and the release of a new album scheduled for January 2027.

Erick Manana and Feo Gasy are launching the group's 30-year celebration at CCI Ivato. After three years dedicated to festivals, Feo Gasy returns to the stage in Madagascar to launch its 30-year celebration. The group will perform on Saturday, August 29 at the International Conference Centre (CCI) in Ivato, before continuing its tour abroad. This concert will also be an opportunity to pay tribute to departed members and friends who marked its history.

"I prefer that we start here, in our country," explains Erick Manana, who wishes to open this new chapter in Madagascar before departing for Europe. A European tour is planned for September. The artist also intends to relaunch Feo Gasy on the international stage and return to the festival circuit.

The CCI concert will notably pay tribute to several figures who marked the group's journey, including Fafah, Rakoto, Bariliva and Sata. For Erick Manana, this celebration is also an opportunity to remember these companions.

Feo Gasy's story began in Bordeaux. Its members met on stage and quickly discovered a genuine spiritual connection. Erick Manana, then the youngest of the group, recalls learning much from his elders.

"The entire history of Feo Gasy could fill an entire book. It's a true school. At its beginning, I was the youngest and I learned enormously from my elders."

A New Album

His journey with the group is also linked to several encounters. "The first person I called for Feo Gasy was Pasy. Since he couldn't ultimately participate in the tour, I called Bariliva."

Another highlight of this new chapter is Feo Gasy preparing the release of its next album, scheduled for early 2027. Recording is already complete and this new project should strengthen the group's presence on the international stage.

The album will also feature new songs. "There will be songs I'm not used to making, but that I love and want to include in the album," he explains.

After the concert in Madagascar and the European tour planned for September, Feo Gasy wishes to continue its return to festival stages. This approach is part of a broader ambition: "Our duty, as Feo Gasy, is to make Malagasy music shine throughout the world."

The year 2027 will also mark another major anniversary. Erick Manana will celebrate 50 years on stage, notably with a performance at La Cigale in Paris on May 1, 2027, then at the Palais des sports de Mahamasina on July 4.

This celebration should also include intergenerational transmission. Erick Manana mentions his reunion with Kolibera: "I'm happy that we found each other again. There are still things to do and we will really prepare something beautiful around this meeting." A four-hour show is being considered.

The new generation will also be present, with Dadou, son of Fafah, who took his first steps on stage alongside the Mahaleo generation.

Through Feo Gasy, Erick Manana intends to continue a story that began three decades ago, between memory, creation and international openness. The concert on August 29 at CCI Ivato will kick off this new chapter, which will continue in Europe and at festivals, before the new album's release in January 2027.
