The NGO KFHI is distributing emergency food kits in Amboasary Atsimo district. Southern Madagascar faces persistent food insecurity. On August 25, the international NGO KFHI (Korea Food for the Hungry International) distributed emergency food kits to 251 vulnerable households in the Androy and Anôsy regions. The action is part of KOICA's HDP-N public-private partnership program, in close collaboration with the Anôsy Region, KOICA's Kenya office, and local authorities. According to the latest IPC report published on July 15, the municipality of Ifotaka in Amboasary Atsimo district is classified in phase 3 ("Crisis"). A deterioration of the situation is feared from October onwards. To prevent this decline, KFHI targeted priority families, particularly those from Agnarafaly village and households with malnourished children. The distributed kits contain rice, beans, oil, and salt, in accordance with recommendations from village chiefs and the ONN. Supply was optimized through contracts adapted to local market prices. The ceremony took place transparently, in the presence of representatives from Anôsy Region, Ms. BAEK Joo Young (KOICA Kenya), Ms. PARK Jieun (KFHI), and the ONN. "It was urgent to provide preventive support to vulnerable households and malnourished children. We will continue our humanitarian actions beyond this one-time aid," affirmed Ms. PARK Jieun.
