A woman is suspected of killing her husband during the night of Thursday to Friday in Ambohimahatsinjo, a commune in Ambohimanambola. Alerted gendarmes discovered the body of R. P., 51, lying on his bed with multiple wounds to the head, legs and knees. According to the doctor at Tsarataona Level II Basic Health Center, these injuries caused his death.
Investigators found bloodstained clothing, a pestle, a piece of wood with nails, and a blood-stained mat. Blood traces were also visible in the kitchen despite an apparent cleaning attempt. The widow, 56, was caught hiding a blood-stained blue pair of pants in the toilet during the intervention. She was immediately taken into custody.
The seized items will serve as evidence in the investigation opened to clarify the circumstances of this domestic tragedy. The National Gendarmerie stated that public order was preserved and no acts of mob justice occurred thanks to the rapid arrival of its team.
