Niriana Maherilanja Tsihoarana Rakotobe, 41, a well-known photographer and videographer, was fatally attacked at his home in the fokontany Lalamby Antohomadinika on Monday. Around 9:45 p.m., a masked individual broke into the house. According to the victim's wife's account, the attacker threatened the couple with a knife while demanding money. He then dragged the middle-aged man outside before inflicting a fatal blow to his throat, then fled through a nearby canal. No objects were stolen, but a toy gun containing pepper was found at the scene. The victim succumbed to his injuries despite emergency transfer to Ankadifotsy clinic. His wife, Manoa Fitiavana Rakotonirina, 28, alerted neighbors. The suspect is described as a thin man, approximately 1.60 m tall, wearing a blue hood and black pants. "I had stayed near our twins when he took my husband outside. I didn't understand what happened next. I only saw that he had stabbed him in the throat," said Manoa Fitiavana. The Criminal Brigade is handling the investigation.
