Madagascar's N1B basketball championship delivered its verdict on Sunday in Moramanga. Six clubs secured promotion to N1A, confirming the emergence of a new generation from grassroots development. In the women's category, the final saw Pintade Amoron'i Mania triumph over Lucadro Analamanga 80-63. Despite the loss, Lucadro also earned promotion to the top tier. JEA Vakinankaratra finished third and Phoenix Vakinankaratra fourth. In the men's competition, the suspense lasted until the final whistle. Fandrefiala Analamanga claimed the N1B national title with a narrow 70-65 victory over NBE Analamanga. Both teams advance to N1A. ASB Itasy took third place while BCR Analamanga finished fourth. In total, six clubs are promoted to the elite: Lucadro Analamanga, Phoenix Vakinankaratra and Pintade Amoron'i Mania in the women's division, and Fandrefiala Analamanga, NBE Analamanga and ASB Itasy in the men's division. This promotion rewards consistency and effort throughout the season. Individual honors highlighted several promising talents. Rajaobelina Noro Mendrikiainivo of Pintade was named women's MVP, while Ravakiniaina Sarobidy of Lucadro led scorers with 86 points. In the men's category, Raobisaona Toky of Fandrefiala won MVP honors. Emame Valentin of NBE earned top scorer with an impressive 101 points. This N1B championship edition demonstrated the quality of training work in regional leagues. For Hasina Fanantenana Ramahandrimanana, president of the technical competition commission at the Malagasy Basketball Federation (FMBB), the future looks promising. "It's encouraging to see these clubs promoted to elite N1A are made up of young players averaging between U18 and U20 categories. In the men's division, the level is very high compared to the women's, who still lack size at first glance. These players are pure products of the U12 criterion," he noted. This observation confirms the relevance of the detection and training policy pursued by the federation for years. With these six new arrivals, next season's N1A promises to be highly competitive. Promoted clubs now face the challenge of confirming their potential against Madagascar's basketball heavyweights while developing a generation destined to represent the nation internationally.
