According to initial witness statements collected by the judicial team, he had spent the evening with an 18-year-old girl. Both had gone to the toilets, followed by another individual. Only the girl returned to the main room. Concerned by the young man's prolonged absence, customers went to the toilets and discovered the victim's body on the floor, bearing two stab wounds to the neck, likely inflicted by a knife. Alerted around 3:30 a.m. by the establishment's owner, gendarmes from the Andoharanofotsy territorial brigade immediately arrived at the scene with health officials. Medical examination revealed death occurred around 1 a.m. Investigators thoroughly searched the bar, finding blood traces and fingerprints on a window, suggesting the perpetrator fled through it. Security camera footage was reviewed, confirming the suspect did not return to the main room after entering the toilets. The victim was from Imerimanjaka, Ambohijanaka commune. The girl lives in Mandrosoa Ivato. She was detained for questioning. The suspected perpetrator, whose nickname has been identified, remains actively sought. The body was released to the family, who refused an autopsy. The bar has been temporarily closed and a complaint filed. The Andoharanofotsy gendarmerie is conducting the investigation.
