A School of Management for Madagascar's Development (ESM-DM) will be established to train new generations of exporters. The school's vision focuses on guiding youth, entrepreneurs and leaders to invest in production, local transformation, value creation and export, to ensure real and sustainable development. Indeed, "Madagascar cannot ensure sustainable economic development by remaining primarily a consumer market for products manufactured elsewhere. The country needs enterprises capable of transforming its resources, creating jobs, conquering external markets and directly contributing to territorial development," according to project promoters during a press interview. Children of producers working in export sectors, such as lychee in Foulpointe commune, will be prioritized to follow distance training provided by this institution. These producers also supply Toamasina market with organic agricultural products. "Deserving high school graduates selected will receive scholarships allowing them to study free of charge at this school," it was learned. ESM-DM offers professional training aimed at making learners directly operational in activities ranging from production to agricultural product export. "Two major training axes are provided to new graduates: management for business and leadership for governance. The common objective is to promote Madagascar's socio-economic development based on territorial development. Entrepreneurship, management, governance, international trade, communication and project management capacity constitute skills serving the same vision," according to project initiators. Economic growth depends on local development. Project promoters are therefore also strengthening competencies of all actors called to assume responsibilities at all levels (fokontany, decentralized territorial authorities, parliament, etc.). More specifically, they will be trained in leadership and good governance through promoting a culture of initiative, responsibility and results-focused management. "Governing, directing an organization or conducting a development project requires knowledge, methods, capacity to mobilize available resources and, above all, strong integrity and responsibility culture. ESM-DM builds its educational project around this dual ambition," promoters stated. The project is initiated by ESM General Director Lanto Randrianarimalala, who provides adequate infrastructure, in partnership with former National Leadership Institute of Madagascar (NLIM) General Director, specialized in leadership and good governance training for future leaders. Many experienced teachers-researchers, doctors and professors will teach in these fields. Faly Export group, led by Faly Rasamimanana, contributes to training these new exporter generations by providing its conditioning station for practice. Teacher salary financing for the first academic year is also its responsibility. Learners will benefit from a common fund for starting activities, plus work tools acquisition, including "Holy Appli" application, ensuring traceability of all operations from production to export.
