A new investment bridge between Madagascar and South Africa was officially presented to the public on August 21 at Louvre Antaninarenina. The Madagascar-South Africa bilateral chamber of commerce (MASACHAM) has just been established under the impetus of Madagascar's ambassador to South Africa, Toavina Ralambomahay. This creation marks a decisive step in bringing the two countries closer together and opens a concrete space where entrepreneurs can meet, exchange ideas and build sustainable projects. Led by president Marcelle Dane, MASACHAM has set itself the mission of facilitating trade exchanges, encouraging investments and creating solid partnerships. The ambassador had already initiated this momentum by inviting South African investors to Madagascar and presenting them at the FIER-MADA trade show, the first opportunity for dialogue revealing the potential of this cooperation. The targeted sectors are numerous and promising: agriculture, industry, mining, tourism, energy and technologies. The ambition is clear: transform opportunities into concrete projects through B2B meetings, conferences and economic missions. Three major events will bring this ambition to life. MASACHAM will participate in Electra Mining Africa at the Johannesburg Expo Centre (Nasrec), a leading industrial trade show from September 7-11, 2026. The second event is the Business Show Johannesburg, held at the Sandton Convention Centre, highlighting innovation and exchanges in September. Finally, the Goodlife Show, taking place at the Johannesburg Convention Centre from September 18-20, 2026, will bring together actors in wellness and sustainable solutions. Madagascar thus wishes to fully engage in African and international dynamics, building solid links and giving companies the means to grow together through MASACHAM.
